IPU CET Law 2018 Admission Process

Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University offers admissions to its only two undergraduate law programmes through IPU CET Law 2018. The notification of IPU CET Law 2017 begins the admission process exam, followed by the application process, issue of admit card, the conduct of exam and declaration of result. Once the result of IPU CET Law 2018 is declared, candidates will be invited for the counseling process which will be based on the merit secured by them. The counseling will be held online where candidates will be required to register for the process and choose their preferred college. The university admission council then allots seat to candidates based on their marks and preferred choice. Once the seat is allotted, the candidate will have to submit the fees to confirm the seat. The entire admission process of IPU CET Law 2018 ends in the month of July with the commencement of classes.

IPU CET Results

The result for the exam will be declared on 31st May 2018, with the rank and score of applicants. Applicants can check the result from the official website of IPU.

IPU CET Counselling Procedure

Filling of the Counselling Fees:

Applicants have to deposit 1000/- Rs. Non-refundable Counselling Fees. Fees can be paid either through Challan or Net banking. Applicants can do the same by logging in the official website.


For registration after the payment of participation fee, candidates have to enter the CET details in which they have to fill the academic and personal details.

Choice Filling

Applicants have to fill the choices of the colleges and the course they want to enroll in. Candidates must fill their choices in the order of propriety. Once the choice has been filled it cannot be changed for that round. Applicants can fill as many options as they want to increase their chances.

Seat allotment:

In every round seat will be allotted based on merits and preferences. Cutoffs for all the rounds will be released and applicants can check the preference allocated to them from the official website. After the seat has been allotted applicants have to submit 40,000/- Rs as part of academic fees to confirm their seat. Print the slip for submission of the fees

Freezing of the allotted seat:

If applicants are satisfied with the seat allotted to them they can freeze their seat. If not freezing the seat, applicants will be given next higher preference automatically in the next round.

Withdrawl of the fees:

If the applicants want to withdraw from the counseling they can do that by selecting the option. After the refund applicants will not be allowed to participate in further round except “spot counseling”

Last round of allotment:

After last round of allotment, there will be no option of withdrawal.

Reporting to the institution:

Applicants can generate provisional admission slip along with their enrollment number from the official website. Candidates have to report the allotted college along with the admission slip, the provisional allotment letter, the academic fee receipt and necessary documents. Failing of the same will lead to cancellation.

Spot Counselling:

If seats will remain vacant in the participating institutions/colleges, the university will update the status on the university website and conduct the spot round of counseling.  Spot round of counseling will be organized through offline mode.  Candidates those wish to participate in the offline counselling have to pay the counselling fee of Rs. 2000/-.  All ‘not ‘admitted’ candidates can participate in this round. Candidates those withdraw their seats can also participate in the spot round counselling.
